Dental Treatments

What is smile design dentistry?

A smile design is essentially a smile makeover that artistically creates straighter, whiter, and aesthetically pleasing smiles.

It consists of one or more cosmetic dental procedures that:

  • Corrects teeth imperfections (Worn-down, misaligned, or gapped teeth)
  • Restores your oral health
  • Enhances your overall appearance

During your initial consultation, your dentist will discuss your smile goals with you.

Before beginning any treatment, it’s necessary to start on a clean slate. Your dentist will take care of any oral health problems, such as decay or gum disease, before proceeding.

In addition:

Smile design dentistry uses modern technology to produce more natural-looking results, saves time, and for more successful treatments.

Your smile makeover may include any of the following:

Full ceramic crowns or Bridges

A dental crown, also known as a dental cap, is a fixed prosthetic device that is cemented onto a damaged or decayed tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and appearance. The process of getting a dental crown typically involves two appointments – one to prepare the tooth and take impressions, and another to place the crown onto the tooth.

At our practice, the material of choice is Zirconia , Emax ceramics and metal supported porcelains.

Dental implants

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots that are surgically placed into the jawbone to support replacement teeth or bridges. They offer a permanent solution for missing teeth and can provide the same strength and function as natural teeth. The procedure involves several steps, including a consultation, implant placement, healing period, and attachment of the crown or bridge. Implants can improve the appearance of the smile, enhance chewing ability, and prevent bone loss in the jaw.

Diastema Closure and Composite Bonding

Diastema closure is the process of closing the gaps between teeth. Composite resin, a tooth-colored material, is commonly used for this procedure. The resin is applied to the affected areas of the teeth and shaped to match the natural tooth structure. Once applied, the material is hardened with a special light, making it strong and durable. Composite resin is ideal for diastema closure because it bonds well to the tooth, is easy to sculpt, and provides a natural-looking finish.

Bleaching

Office teeth whitening is a dental treatment that is done quickly and easily right in the dentist’s office. The procedure involves applying a bleaching agent to the surface of the teeth and then activating it with a special light or laser. The process typically takes about an hour and can improve the shade of the teeth by several shades.

At home teeth whitening with trays at the dentist is a popular method for achieving a brighter, whiter smile. The process involves getting custom-made trays from your dentist, which you fill with a whitening gel and wear for a specified period of time each day. This method is more effective than over-the-counter options as it uses a stronger concentration of the whitening agent

Orthodontics- Invisalign

Invisalign uses clear aligners developed from computer-generated images and impressions taken from your mouth by your dentist and their team to change the position of your teeth. While the traditional brace makes use of fixed wires to “pull” the teeth into alignment, Invisalign aligns the teeth by using a series of molds that, across a series of months, force your teeth into their new and improved position.

Bruxism

Bruxism is when you clench, grind or gnash your teeth. It usually happens subconsciously, either during waking hours or when you’re asleep. Causes include stress, anxiety, sleep disorders and certain medications. Most people who grind their teeth can ease symptoms with a custom mouth guard.

Mouth guards. A dentist can make a custom mouth guard to protect your teeth. This appliance can also place your jaw in a more favorable position to reduce TMJ muscle strain. You wear your mouth guard when you’re most likely to grind your teeth.

Botulinum toxin injections. In severe cases, healthcare providers might recommend Botox® for teeth grinding. These injections temporarily relax your jaw muscles and reduce pain. You’ll need repeat treatments to maintain your results — usually every three to four months

All-On-Four

The all-on-four treatment concept arises as an attempt to allow treatment with affordable time and cost through immediate implant-supported restorations, providing relatively straightforward and predictable treatment in edentulous patients with atrophic jaws. The outcome is favorable in terms of quality of life , when compared with the traditional 3-6 months during which the fixtures are protected from premature loading , requiring second surgery to expose them and connect the transmucosal components, and increasing the time and cost of treatment
